Yoga Mala to Celebrate Autumn Exquinox – 108 Sun Salutations

Sunday 22nd September 12-2pm  // £20

The Autumn Equinox marks the end of summer and welcoming in of a new season. The equinox is a perfect opportunity to cleanse out old energy. Seen as a time of transition between light and darkness. A time to celebrate new light and life, new beginnings, plant new seeds and pathways for new opportunities.

The Equinox occurs when day and night are at equal length. The significance for Spring is that daylight starts to increase, so the earth is about to tip over to more light, like an illuminating, sublime reminder that light is returning and always does, to earth. Therefore, the spring equinox represents new light and life, new beginnings, seeds, and new paths.

This Yoga Mala will consist of 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutations – a meditative repetition of Yoga Asana. We will move & flow in union, breathe as one, energising the body and mind whilst enjoying the benefits of this powerful healing practice.

All levels are welcome.

Day of Yoga

3 workshops for Mental & Physical Wellbeing

One workshop £15, 2 workshops £28, full day £40

Hip opening – workshop 1  – 10-11.30am

There can be a tremendous amount of tension held in the muscles and tissues surrounding the pelvis. Martyn will guide you through a delicious hip opening practice as a great way to release this tension. Moving the ball and socket joint through its full range of motion helps create supple hips. This in turn, can ease back pain and assist in alignment of the whole body.

Strengthening and unlocking tight shoulders – workshop 2 – 12-1.30am

Shoulder problems caused by joint instability is one of the most common ailments. Tight shoulders can cause them to become weakened over time, and weak shoulders could lead to neck strains or other upper body injuries. You’ll be led through a practice that increases your range of motion in this area, and by building strength in the surrounding tissues, you can work to alleviate pain, stress, and future neck or back issues.

Meditation & Breathwork – workshop 3 – 2-3pm

When you think of doing yoga, your first association might be with the physical practice: moving through the yoga poses and practising yoga breathing. But meditation is also part of a well-rounded yoga experience.

Learning to meditate in yoga involves more than sitting still for a few moments each day. Yoga meditation is about quieting a busy mind, starting to see things as they truly are. Meditation can help you realise deep inner peace, realising that you can achieve anything your heart desires.

The whole day is suitable for absolute beginners as well as experienced practitioners looking for a different take on yoga and its vast physical, emotional and spiritual benefits, presented in a fun, warm and genuine way.

Be More Yin

Nourishing Workshop to Restore the Senses

Sunday 8th September // 5pm – 6.45pm // £15

This workshop is a great introduction to Yin Yoga. If you haven’t tried Yin yet, this is a way to explore this relatively new style of Yoga. Yin Yoga is a practice which encourages a softening or surrendering of the mind and body. It encourages you to become fully present in the current moment.

For those Yin regulars, it will allow for a longer, deeper immersion, taking more time to listen to your body and mind, whilst learning about the anatomy & physiology behind Yin (along with all its yummy benefits you already know about).

As we move into late Summer, we’ll be working with the Earth element & the Stomach Meridian, helping us to find nourishment and groundedness.

Come and enjoy some well deserved time out of your busy lives. Ending with an herbal tea and snacks. Whether you’re new to yoga or have an established practice, this workshop is suitable for all levels.

All equipment is provided.
